  1. Hey,

    I've a 704MB DivX file I want to re-encode into Xvid.
I opened VirtualDub, opened that file, set video compression on Xvid and 1st pass. Added to Job
then second pass, added to job.
I started the job control jobs and got an output file that is so small it's funny :

    I got : movie.first.avi - 76MB
    video.pass - 2.09MB
    movie.second.avi - 83.5MB

What did I do wrong ???

    Thanks guys,
    Anna.

Why reconvert to xvid? Most stuff that supports xvid also supports divx.

But if you want to reconvert I would instead use avi recomp.

Maybe the audio settings are wrong?

In the "audio" menu: is "Direct stream copy" active?

I am telling this because if you recode audio to another format the file size might increase.
