  1. I have a Xvid file and want to encode to VCD Mpg. Use TMPGEnc, it encoded. However, audio is out of sync. Try splitting / frameserving / coverting using VirtualDub - still out of sync, even in resulting AVIs. Finally scanned video stream for erros in VD, and it says something about cannot be encoded? What can I do?
    Thx in Advance!!

Could you be a little more specific about the error message?

You need to scan and remove bad frames before every conversion, that's probably your problem.

  4. d'load mp3freeze (version of virtual dub - from the tools section...i think) use video=>check files for errors. i you have any bad frames delete from badframe.log in reverse order (the highest number first). There is a guide on here if you get stuck

  5. I found the guide earlier - just need to encode it tonight. Thanks for your help everyone

BTW, if I delete frames, won't it cause errors in the film when I play it on my DVD player?
    Thx in Advance!!

No, but that portion of the video will be missing. Hoopefully it's not too much! 8)

0 frames masked (0 frames bad, 0 frames good but undecodable)

So you've got no bad frames, that's good.

Is the audio out of sync the same amount throughout the entire movie?
If it is, then this can be corrected by using the audio delay function in TMPGEnc. In the source range window there is a box to enter a delay in milliseconds. Positive numbers move the audio later, negative numbers start it sooner. 1,000 ms.= 1 sec, try a few short clips to get the correct amount

Does the audio start in sync then get worse as it goes along?
This can be corrected by stretching or shrinking the audio to fit. Use Goldwave and the Time Warp function.

    Good luck!

  10. k i'll try that. I just opened up the encoded mpeg and noticed it to be very jerky - plays a bit, then pause, continue. Perhaps this is another contributing factor?
    Thx in Advance!!
