Iīm encoding some files with WinAVI Video Converter from Divx or Avi to Mpeg and a square formed with 9 smaller squares appear on the right top corner on the Mpeg encoded file that wasnīt on the original.

Itīs also happening when Iīm encoding to Mpeg with Vegas Video...

It wasnīt happening before so I asume that might be because of some program I instaled, one of them could be Win Avi Video Converter...

If anyone knows something about it

    Thank you, Rouch.

It's a trial version of a codec - can't remember the name right now.

I think that the elecard mpeg2 decoder add such a logo with 9 squares. If you play the mpeg with VLC do you also see the squares (it has a builtin mpeg decoder)?

...That's the one I was thinking of. So, the square isn't in your mpg file(s) but added (overlayed) when they are played back.

Mats itīs not what you say because I have lots of Mpeg files and the onlyones that appear the logo when I play them are the last three I encoded

two years ago I had the same problem and someone here in Videohelp told me what to do but I donīt remember who and how to solve it

    Thank you

Get rid of the elecard codec. (CodecSniper) I'm still pretty sure it's the culprit.
Could you post a scrren shot of it in action?

I notice something thatīs important here, maybe I was wrong, because I played the MPEG file with the logo and it appeared in Windows media player but with Intervideo WinDVD player the logo was not there. I noticed all these when i tried to get the screen shot and edited the file with Vegas Video and the logo was not there too. So I couldnīt get the screen shot...

It looks it appear just with Windows media Player but only with the last files I encoded,(thatīs why I thought the logo was in the file). Itīs like on those files when I convert them to MPEG thereīs some info aded that produces this dam logo...

if itīs this elecard codec how can i get rid of it?

    Thankīs Rouch.

Control Panel -> Audio properties -> Hardware -> Select Video-CODEC -> Properties -> Properties Tab - here you get a list of video codecs, and should see and be able to remove the Elecard codec. (Roughly translated to English from my Swedish OS version) Or use Codecsniper.

I had the same problem with the Elecard MPEG decoder a few weeks ago, I removed it using add/remove programs in control panel.
