Should be interesting to try to follow this story (very near me, as well).

Yeah but i try to follow alot of news items and most always seem to vanish and you never find out what happened.
I also like how they spend like 10 seconds on the actual story with pretty much ZERO details and spend the rest of the time talking about bit torrents giving everyone a name to search for so now even more people can do it -

Just messing with ya :P -
For those of you in Michigan, its no coincidence that this is hitting close to home. Note that the guy is being sued for downloading not uploading. The first real higher court ruling on P2P infringements just came down last month and it involved downloading, not uploading, and a Chicago resident. The law is well settled in this jurisdiction now (6th Circuit= Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee) and basically the courts have shown that they will throw the book at downloaders. That's why the suit is being brought here. You can probably expect alot more too.

Hell, I'm in.
I'm in N. Cali, so I could pick up the States-siders on the way, or I could go the other way and pick up the international crew (Can you drive to Oz from California?) -

It's a little more noticeable when you're DLing multiple 7.6GB files over a period of several hours. That's like lighting illegal fireworks in the same spot for a few hours and hope nobody reports it or a cop doesn't see it.

I didn't think they gave that much information in the news report.

gadgetguy sent me in this direction. This is rich. I don't live in Lansing anymore, instead Battle Creek. Still "close to home" for me. Everytime there is an article or news story about Bit Torrent it gets bigger. I personally love the stories about the big Torrent sites located in countries that are sympathetic with lax copyright infringement laws. I won't mention names but we all know who the real "pirates" are on the internet.
