This is a bug that has been around since Win9x days. Apparently MS had fixed it in XP's SP1, but they broke it again in SP2.

They knew about it back in December, but did nothing about it. It also effects Vista

(This is extraordinary in the true sense - ordinarily, such a fix which be available during the scheduled monthly updates. In this case, it will be earlier.)
