I tried downloading something from a Chinese website and picked up a terrible virus. If I tried to to delete anything on the computer, McAfee would immediately show and delete a virus, but McAfee would keep coming up time and time again. My only solution was to restore the C drive with a Ghost image, but then I had to re-install a TV card (installed after the Ghost image was taken) which I got an error message (couldn't initialize). I have the TV card install CD and it has 2 folders, app and drv. I tried installing the app but that did not work. Is it necessary to install the drv first.? Also, what kind of virus would cause this kind of problem with deleting any files? Would it have been possible to solve this problem without restoring the C drive? After I restored the C drive, everything seems to be OK.

You need to install the drivers first, reboot, install the application.

before you install the driver, you might check the manufacturer's website to see if there is a newer version available. the one shipped is not always the latest.
