Ok. Can you try to open the splash.mpg file in the S2S folder in WMP? Can you play it?

Slash.mpg will not play in WMP. So i have just upgraded WMP to v10 and it still does not play.
WMP say unknown error and displays a code
    Error ID = 0xC00D11CD, Condition ID = 0x00000000

well, after spending 3 to 4 hrs trying various things, remove / installing directx, various codecs, wmp 10, 11, 9. Searching around the net and trying diferent solutions to play mpg`s on wmp. I decided that if wmp and mpg`s were causing this problem, what others might occur in the future.I decided it would be easier and quicker to format my drive and reinstall winxp. So thats what i`ve done, wmp plays mpg`s now, svcd2dvd works a treat again, and i have the majority of my programs back on my drive
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

ps. other programs i had on my pc also would not play mpg`s ( bsplayer for one ).
