i have a film in dv-avi with vertical jitter - any suggestions as to possible software that will help remove it?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

sounds like it might have been captured wrong or you are watching it wrong. dv is bottom field first. make sure it's being displayed that way.

"Vertical jitter" could mean a few things, but for fixing old film, you can re-encode and calm a lot of it down with Stab. I've been using it a fair bit lately and haven't experienced the green tinting problem mentioned on the wiki, so it was probably a bug with a plugin.
If it's some other kind of jitter other than the entire frame "bobbing" up and down, you might need to be more specific.Avisynth functions Resize8 Mod - Audio Speed/Meter/Wave - FixBlend.zip - Position.zip

Yes, the U/V drop (green tinting) in Stab (actually I think it was in DePan) was fixed a few years ago.
