  1. I wanted to use Subtitle Edit portable old version isolated from the new. I made the folder on the desktop. Installed MVP and everything looked ok. But the video looped a couple times at the line selected. I didn't know how to get out of that. For now I'm simply going to use regular SE4.06 on a separate PC.

  2. That repeat is very likely the Translate tab under the video, not a problem with the portable copy. In SE 4.x the area below the video has tabs (Translate, Create, Adjust). On Translate there's an "Auto repeat on" checkbox with a "Repeat count (times)" box that defaults to 2, so each line you select plays twice before it moves on.

Untick "Auto repeat on" (or set the count to 1), or just click the Create tab, and it stops. Pause also ends the loop that's playing.

For keeping the old version isolated, the portable zip extracted into its own folder keeps its settings in that folder, so changing it there won't affect your newer install.

  3. Thanks for the reply. I will certainly re- check that. I'm just wary of anything not a standard install and figured I messed it up.

Elsewhere I'm slowly getting used to the new SE with help from Davenext and those such as yourself. The layout is interesting for 'settings' which is where I had difficulty. At least doing simple things like italics uses the same code. I was able to step up in Whisper language models and may try to add one more upgrade.
