IN Subtitle Edit:
Hello,
when I try to paste 'A in italics with a dash on top' (the sign for A-complement in maths), I can only get an A with a dash TO THE RIGHT, and at the top. I can't get the dash to be on top of the A.
I've tried doing it successfully in word, and then copying and pasting, but the dash always moves to the top right hand side of the letter. This is how it copies:
A−

but the dash needs to be above the A.
How do I do this? Thank you.

To be able to do this correctly, some conditions must be met:
1: You must use Unicode or utf-8 character encoding

2: You have to use Character Map program (included in every windows installation)

Find the wanted character -> Select and the Copy.
Paste the character into Subtitle Edit.
3: Try your video with a suitable video-player and hope for the best.
The video-player has to support subtitles with utf-8 encoding. -
