    Hi all,

I have a .mp4 video ripped on Sony V8 tape by a profession shop. Some sections of the video have screen jerking/jumping, unclear to view. The profession shop blames that it is the quality of the recording.

Please advise is there any way to fix the problem. Thanks in advance.

    Regards

Quality of the recording maybe. Using an external (frame) TBC may possibly have solved the issue, but how should we know what the shop did?
But now you could try to fix the probelm by replacing the jerky frames with motion interpolated frames of adjacent good frames, provided these jerky sections are few frames (say 1....5) in a row only.

Upload a sample with a jerky section so someone may try.

You have done this many times before. For example you can use Avidemux to select and cut a section of your .mp4 which includes jerky bad frames.
