A few years back I purchased a Toshiba R2 which allowed the suppression of a menu when finalizing a disc. A great feature IMO, as most of the discs I create have but one video clip on them, which makes the menu completely redundant - except maybe for listing chapters (which i have no need for).
I'm now looking at the Toshiba D-R5 and it appears from the manual, at least, that this option is no longer implemented. Can anyone who owns one of these confirm or deny this?
I know Panasonic recorders allow the user to designate a clip as "first play", but the ugly damned menu still pops up after the video finishes.
Does anyone know of a current (decent) recorder that has a menu bypass feature?
Thanks for your input.
