I want to put several small clips that I have onto a DVD. I know how to convert clips to DVD format but wanted to ask a question before I started this. Most of these clips are at a very low resolution or/and bitrate. When I convert them to the standard DVD format they become huge. If I just convert them to MPEG2 without modifying the resolution or bitrate of them will they still play on DVD players? Thanks.

Hello,
The best you could do would be to use half d1 resolution: NTSC 352*480.
The bitrate I think can go as low as 1150 (VCD bitrate as long as the audio is 48khz). Just do a test on a rw to test it.

Agreed, except you can use bitrates up to 1600kbps (I think, check the WHAT IS for DVD on the left) if the quality difference is worth it.Originally Posted by jimmalenko
