    hi,had this writer couple of month using sony 1612 dvd rom drive on same ide.when using any dvdr media i get to copy at 1% then nero fails,giving me coasters 80% time.tried searching regarding this version nero but need any views and problems with this one.thanks

    Thats a newer driver with slightly older software? Have you tried the updated "CDROM.CFG" file thats available for download at Nero.com?

    Maybe Nero 5.5 simply can't correctly identify your hardware.

    Is Nero 5.5 and OEM copy that came with the Sony Drive? It might be limited.
