I followed the guide on this site for capturing w/ an ATI All-in-Wonder (http://www.vcdhelp.com/ATI_AIW_Guide.htm) and was wondering what settings I need to use to edit the resulting VCD-compliant MPEG in Adobe Premiere? Every time I try to open it in Premiere, I can't get anything to show up in the timeline... it's like the audio or video codec is off....

  2. In Premiere you drag the window, that appears after you open the file, into the bin. Then, drag it from the bin the the timeline where you want it...

    I didn't explain myself clearly.

I guess I had to create a new "Project Settings" or "Preset" to be able to edit the MPEG. So I tried to make one w/ the settings I used to capture.

I open a custom project, then import the MPEG I created into the Bin. I then drag it to the Timeline ("Video 1A&quot, but it shows up as all green. When my buddy did it, it showed up as a "film strip", where you could see the individual frames of the show I had captured.

There is also a red and a yellow line at the top of the Timeline. If I right-click on the yellow, I get the option of "Render work area". If I choose this, it tells me it'll take "about a day". I think this is the crux of my problem; some setting is not correct.

  4. Right click on the video clip on your timeline. Select the proper track format to make it look like filmstrip.

"Frameserve" when you export movie to save you rendering time. It does not need to be VCD compliant in Premiere but it's important to set your spec well in the Encoder (Panasonic or TMPGEnc) when you open the frameserved movie to perform the encoding.

Thanks vcdfreak. So simple, but it took a long time for someone to give the right answer! Thanks again!
