I'm using the FlyDS capturing program because of its advatages in video quality and syncing, which I haven't found in any other program.
There is however a big problem: the program stops recording after changing periods of times, ranging from 8 to 15 minutes and an error message says there's no space left on the disk, which I have plenty.
I've sent an email to the developer of the program but didn't get an answer.
Is there someone here who knows what the problem might be?
I'd appreciate any help as this is my only good working way of recording.

Are you using FAT32 (win98/me) file system? If you are then you have a 4gb limit on the size of the video file. Virtualdub gets around this problem by being able to capture in segments. If you are using FAT32 then I'm afraid it may be time for an upgrade to XP and NTFS file system.

Thanks.
I've heard of this limitation but for some reason I didn't associate it with this problem.
I do have XP and FAT32 and I just did a quick check and indeed the capture stops at 4095.903 MB.
You say there's no going around it besides using NTFS?
I wonder what are all the other capturers who work with big files and face this bug, doing about it? joining all the parts together each and every time? -
Virtualdub's the only one I know of that can capture above the 4gb limit. There may be others, you'll have to do some research. Maybe you should convert your drive from FAT32 to NTFS. In fact I wonder why you're using FAT32 in the first place in you're system os is XP.
It's very simple to convert your drive here's the commands > (make sure you back up any important data first, though I've never had any problems.)
To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt:
Open Command Prompt.
In the command prompt window, type:
convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs
For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format.
Notes:
To open command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command. -
Till now I was quite happy with FAT32 but now NTFS is at least worth a consideretion, I guess. Thanks for the specific instructions.
