I use my Sony DV camera with its digital pass-thru feature to capture TV broadcasts. This works greats, but I have to manually turn the software capture program on to start the capture, and thus can’t use this when I’m away from the computer. I’m using Vegas 4 for captures.
Anyone know of a (preferably freeware) program that would allow me to have the capture switch on at a given time (I don’t really need the off part, since I can set Vegas for the duration of the capture). Or another capture program with a timer that would support DV capture. The capture programs with timers that I have used (WinDVD Recorder) don’t allow one to use the timer functions with DV capture, only with tuner cards.
Thanks

Check out Scenalyzer. At the bottom of the page there is a link to a timer application that might do what you are asking. https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=scenalyzer&s=&orderby=Name&convert=&dvdautho...+or+List+tools
