  1. I have tried VirtualDub, VirtualDubMOD and AVI Joiner to join two XviD AVIs together but every time the sound seems to be out of sync. I have tried playing in PowerDVD and in Media Player Classic. The audio is in sync in the original files.

Both have 6ch AC3 audio - could that be a problem?

  2. Why do you need to combine them into 1 file?

  3. What does it matter why I want them joined?

  4. Because I am a spy for the MPAA and the RIAA and Microsoft and I just want to get you to admit that you are doing bad things...

Really though, maybe because if you intend to burn them to DVD vs. keep them on a HD movie server vs. re-encode to a smaller size/different format their are different ways to do it that are best for each option.

But hey, if you want to be pissy about it so be it. It still doesn't change the fact that all of my encodes play just fine...

  5. Convert your AC3 audio to wave audio and replace the AC3 audio in your files with the wave files. If the audio is truly in sync with both original files then they should be in sync when they are joined togehter. After they have been converted to wave that is.
