Hey all...... So I've read as many articles I can find on how to join clips but nothing addresses - or should I say, SOLVES - my particular problem.
Here it is: I've cut, cropped and saved many shorts segments of a particular movie using VirtualDub - making quite sure that I used the exact same parameters for each segment ( same "sharpened by", same Y1 &Y2 offset cropping, same resize and same compression rates), yet I get an error message saying that I "can't append segment****** The videos do not share a common sampling rate."
Now I'll be the first guy to admit that I'm a bit out of my league here so if there's a relatively simple solution to this, I'm all ears. Thanks

'sampling rate' sounds more like a audio problem. VD is a bit particular about appending clips. They do need the same framerate, resolution and codec. And VD can be particular with the framerate, even to the third decimal place.
I would check a couple of your clips with MediaInfo and see what it says about the audio and video formats and specifications.
Or you can try AVIDemux as it's a bit less sensitive to mismatches than VD.
