I need input from smarter brain than mine. If I test a burned DVD with Nero CD Speed disc scan, both file and surface test, can I be confident that the burn is actually good and the surface is reliable ( excusing any problems in the future from dye decay). It appears as though that is what the software is saying but I have burned discs with very visible flaws and I get no errors. Is this a reliable test of the quality of the burn?
Thanks in advance.

Yes Indeed, I would also run a speed test too.I myself usually first run a speed test to see how the graph is if it's has little to no spikes then it's a good burn with no errors. If there is heavy dips in the graph then you no thats where it slowed down and had a hard time reading that sector. I have the rip locks removed on my Lite-On 166S so it hits 14x read speed, the faster the better then you can really tell how good the burn is.
