No Sound in Motion Menu Using DVD Author

When I author a DVD in TMPGEnc DVD Author (version 1.5.20.62), the background audio does not play on the main menu. I created a muxed audio/video MPEG source file with mp2 audio using TMPGE 3.0 Express. In DVD Author, I then linked the thumbnail image on the main menu to this source file and checked the boxes “Use motion menu” and "Use audio of the background video as the menu BGM". When I insert the finished DVD into my player, it plays the main menu thumbnail video but there is no sound. I tested the muxed MPG source file and the audio works fine. However, I noticed that the finished VOB menu file in the Video_TS folder has no audio. I've searched this forum and tried the posted fixes but still can't get the background audio to play.

Has anyone found a fix for this problem?

Background refers to the menu background, not to the thumbnails.

Yup. Changing the background picture to a muxed video file put the sound in my menu. I thought the sound was linked to the thumbnail like it is in MyDVD. This opens up a bunch of new possibilities for the menu. I don't know if I ever would have figured this out without your help. Thanks!
