Problem using Subtitles

I read this article https://www.videohelp.com/srtsubsvirtual.htm
and decided to make subtitles for a movie.
I used Subtitle Workshop in order to make the subtitles. I saved the file as a ssa file. I open the movie with Virtual Dub, extracted Subtitle Filter to the plugin in VD folder.
Opend Filter, selected the subtitler, and then i open the subtitle file i did.
I pressed play and i didnt see the subtitles on the movie.
what did i do wrong? cuz in the guide it showed the subtitles and i did the same thing.

yeah sry, i am new to this forum and didnt see there was subtitles here.
so i posted there, and then i saw that there is so i posted here. :/
