Problem to swap one subtitles to another

Hello,

I have subtitles in English with the correct timming and sync with the audio.I also have another spanish subtitle I would like to swap.The english and spanish have same number of subtitles, and every text matches.I don't want to copy/paste and changing english texts with spanish all by hand.Does anybody know the best way to do that?

You say you have the subtitles are you using them with an avi file?

SubtitleWorkshop has a way to use the timings from one subtitle file and the text from a different subtitle file. I don't use that program so can't provide more details.

It would also be helpful to know if you are planing on playing this on your computer or a divx dvd player.

Yeah.SRT is the extension for both.

No, I already said you can import the entire subtitle file at once, into timings from a different subtitle file. I've seen it mentioned here but, as I said, I don't use that program myself. If you can't figure out how to do it from reading the help file, maybe AlanHK will see your thread and explain it to you.

2.2.3 Method 3: adjust to synchronized subtitles
Useful if you have desynchronized subtitles in one language and want to quickly adjust them to an already adjusted subtitle file in another language. This method will work even if both files have a different number of subtitles, the only requirement for proper adjustment is that first and last subtitles in both files correspond - that is, mean the same. This method is extremely easy: you just have to click the "Timings/Adjust/Adjust to synchronized subtitles" menu or press the [Shift]+[Ctrl]+[B] keys, and load the synchronized file. Note: this method is NOT the same as the "read times from file" feature.

This for Subtitle Workshop version 2.51.
