LG DVD hack question

um right so im gonna use the multi region hack from http://www.area450.co.uk/lg5083hack.htm to make my dvd player region free.

A couple of questions since im a bit unsure.

It says in the guide that i should make the cd like a data disc , but later if u click on a link in the guide on how to burn it shows example of sampo dvd and they burn it as iso . what am i supposed to do ? oh yea, if i use nero express u can make to types of data disc , either data disc or data bootable disc . should i make any of those or should i still stick with doing iso ?

have any1 done this before ? perhaps could tell me how u did

Far easier to flash the firmware and just be done with it. RPC1.com is an excellent source for firmware upgrades and Region-Free firmware. The firmwares for LG drives are incredibly easy to use as long as you make sure you understand what you are doing. The RPC-1 firmware will fit on a floppy disc, which you can use to boot into DOS (very important for RPC-1 flashing).

Trust me, you'll thank me when you gain confidence with this procedure.

but its for a stationary dvd, still possible , i searched around on that site about my dvd found nothing ..

A stationary DVD player? As in set-top? Your original message was a bit vague to say the least, so I had assumed it was an internal IDE drive. Clarity is important here.

Easy... All you need do is extract the zip file... use nero express data CD (no need to make it bootable as this is for PC's), burn, pop it in you 5083, select your region (or 0 for multi)... and enjoy the wonderful world of a hacked DVD player! There are also hacks for VCD & SVCD... if ya want 'em.. just ask!!

hey , r u sure about that lol ? i read on another site im supposed to like this:

1. Download the Zip file at this address http://www.area450.co.uk/lg5083hack.htm.
2.Use a 650Mb CDR/RW and set the CD project up so that it has ISO9660 and Mode 1. Also close the disc (no multisession).
3. When done just put in your player and when prompted select 0 for all regions

yea btw my nero says Mod 1 , is this same as Mode1 ?

sorry, forgot to say that you can use 700Mb disks aswell! It is really that simple!!
