Okay, I've further isolated the issue here, I made a disc of 6 TV episodes that I'd converted from various formats to MPEG2 DVD specs 3 of them were originally US TV captures, in MPEG1 format, in NTSC, 1 was an MPEG1 in PAL, the other 2 were AVI's in PAL, out of the 6, 3 have wierd color artifacts on playing on my DVD player, but not my Mac. I tested several brands of media, with identical results. The 3 that are perfect, were originally in NTSC, the 3 with problems, were PAL. I made another disc, with 2 movies on it, one was PAL, the other NTSC, the NTSC was perfect, the PAL converted one was funky, with the same color artifacts.
Decided to test further, 5 random music videos, all PAL converts, 5 NTSC, PAL ALL had funky stuff on them????? NTSC were flawless.
What I'm trying to figure out is HOW this is happening, and how I can fix it? Can ffmpegX NOT do a clean convert from PAL to NTSC? Is it even supposed to?
