    i tried to open an avi file(i think it`s kind of old, it`s about the 2 world war)and i have this:

    Couldn`t locate decompressor for format Divx (divx4+)
    virtualdub requires a video for windows (vfw) compatible codec to compress video. directshows codecs, such as those used by windows media player, are not suitable

    I used Windows Xp-pro. What Should i do about it??????????????

    it means you need a codec, i'm not sure which one, but theres a list on this site somewhere.
