I have been trying to capture a still from dvd on my new pc.
Athlon 1300 with ASUS 7700 deluxe gcard.
I used to be able to capture stills on my old p2 450 with tnt gcard no problem, with power dvd (ver 2.55) to cature a snap shot or using hypersnap dx.
I now have to use asus dvd (really power dvd ver 3) but snap shot option is disabled and hypersnap gives unable to capture format nv12.
I can capture from mpegs etc but not from overlays such as games and especially dvd.
I really want to capture pics from dvd to use as wallpaper.
Is there (yet another) problem with asus cards, anone been able to get a dvd still capture using this card. if so how.
As usual any advice welcome.

I sorted it out
For anyone else with problems...
Use powerdvd and go to config and in video tab disable hardware acceleration - this stops the card using it's own format for sticking the picture on screen so you can use powerdvd for screen capture (or hyper-snap for better pic)
Remember to re-enable hardware acceleration again to watch movies properly - especially if you have a slowish processor.
