I captured the footage from my Dv camera to my computer to edit. Now i cannot use Virtual Dub to edit the file as it throws up an error saying couldn't locate decompressor for format dvsd.
Now is their either a way to get around this or another program that will let me edit. I used pinnacle but when i export them to avi they are very big even with compression and the quality becomes worse with lines across the screen.
I am trying to make very small files around 5 - 10 seconds becuase i am making a skating site and need small files to download for trick tips for dial up 56k users.
Thanks for any help.

You need the appropriate DV codec...or...
ftp://ftp.canopus.com/pub/drivers/Canopus_DV_File_Converter.exe
ftp://ftp.canopus.com/pub/drivers/dvcodec.exe
When you have installed the above programs load the DV Avi file into the File Converter and
convert it, when it's done you can load the converted Avi file into Vdub.Cheers, Jim
