ok, i promise i checked out the guides and did search but am still having trouble figuring this out. so basically i have a 25 minute video in vcd format that i want to put on a dvd+r that consists of a lot of small m2v+wav files. it's a proper dvd up until now, since i decided i have a bit of spare room that this vcd mpg could fit on it too - i re-encoded using tmpgenc it but it made it too big. is there any way i can get both formats on one disk? i know the answer will probably be no but hey it's worth asking...

if i have to re-encode using tmpgenc does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the file size down? such as bitrate, remember it's only a dodgy looking vcd mpg at the minute, there would be no need for me to have the highest resolution for it.

    thanks for looking and reading.

With tmpgenc dvd author you can have mpg1(vcd) and m2v(352x480/576)+wav on the same dvdr as long as you put each on its on track.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

the answer is yes, not no.

At least it is yes if you have TMPGEnc DVDAuthor. Simply put the VCD on a seperate track then the m2v files and it will work. You can mix MPG2 @ 720 X 480, m2v @ 342 X 480, and MPG1 (VCD) @ 352 X 240, as long as they are on different tracks. With the VCD on list, writing the dvd folder will take a little longer then normal because the audio has to be converted to 48Khz.

I would assume that some other authoring programs would let you do this as well.

cool, some positive postings, mainly about tmpgenc which i do not own... i use dvd-lab and it always brings up errors, usually about the audio being 44 instead of 48 and the video being a different size.

if i remember correctly, tmpgenc isn't so hot with menus, unlike dvd-lab which is great for customising them. i can re encode my audio in my vcd mpg and after a demux i will then have an m1v file - is it worth just re-encoding to m2v in tmpgenc but using the vcd bitrate? (which i dont know btw).

thanks for such quick responces, it's great!
