  1. is there anyway I can just put ASF files onto a DVD without using TMPEG to reencode them because I have like 20 asf files and that would just take to long.

    I'm afraid not.

    Actually, if these .ASF files are 320x240, as most are, Tmpgenc would re-encode them in slightly better than realitme on a P4 machine.
    The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

    You don't have to use TMPGEnc per se, but you do have to use another encoder to convert to mpeg. No way of getting around it. Canopus Procoder works pretty well.

    You can burn the asf files to dvd as regular data files but your dvd player wont play them.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
