Just need confirmation from you guys
1. When I open the capture file (VHS source through Canopus ADVC50)
in the 'source' setting it shows interlace bottom field first, in the
'target' for any DVD setting it shows top field first. Should I change
the ouput setting to bottom field firdt or leave it? thanks.
2. If I try to open *.avs file which I applied 'crop' function the 'source'
setting will always shows as non-interlaced source, is this normal?

1. set both to bottom field
2. don't know rest of your settings - but it can reverse field order , make progressive or keep the same are the choices ..
best way to make sure is to load the avs into tmpgenc or v-dub and step through frames and see/check order to make sure.."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
