  1. Canopus Procoder experts please !!!!
I am using the Canopus Procoder 2 to convert a 4:3 PAL tv show to NTSC.
I am the 'video Filter' to crop the top few lines of the picture, to cut out a logo.
I then want to re-centralise the picture (creating a'letter-box' effect).
Centralising is what's causing me the problem.
The settings for Vertical Crop : TOP, BOTTOM and BOTTOM OFFSET, but I can't
really figure out how to use them.
I cannot independently set BOTTOM and BOTTOM OFFSET, meaning that centralising will
mean that I am cropping the bottom part of the picture (which I do not want to do).
Basically, once I have cropped the top part of the picture, I want to transpose it.
Is there anyway I can do that with this piece of software.
I really want to carry out this basic piece of editing and do the standards conversion
in one, meaning that the Canopus would be the ideal solution.
    Help Please !!

I'd use VirtualDub for the crop work. (Be sure AVI Synth is installed.)
Frameserve out of VirtualDub, naming the frameserver .AVS and not .VDR, so Procoder can open it.
Then do other stuff in Procoder.

All this said, converting PAL to NTSC in software tends to look like crap. You'll get jerks, blurs and ghosts.

It's better to leave as PAL, and then just play on a player that works with PAL discs (most all NTSC players play PAL, especially Chinese-made ones). A cheap $20-25 machine from Walmart does it.
