Did you upgrade the firmware to its latest version? You should do that first. As for me i just recently ordered a Liteon LDW-411S burner from newegg.com for $104.I also ordered a 25 pack of Ritek GO3 media from www.allmediaoutlet.com/amo/

I read a lot about the drive before buying it and most sites gave it high rateings but recommend upgradeing to the latest firmware on liteon's site in order to get the best performence out of the drive. You should really check out this CDfreaks review and read what its says on the conclusion page about firmware: http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/127/9

Anyway why did you choose the Liteon drive? For a while i was stuck between the NEC ND-1300A and the LiteOn as both were identical when it came to great reviews and low prices. In the end i chose the liteOn because of its good looks.

Those white-on-black Logos just looks so pretty!

  4. Don't forget the story doesn't end at writing to a disc - make sure it will play back on all your target devices before investing in media in any quantity. People seem to forget this...

Media suggestions? After getting the latest firmware. For -R Ritek, for +R Ricoh. Should do ya perfectly.

  6. Don't know if i have a bad burner or not.
But even after latest firmware upgrade, I've not been able to burn a good -R/RW anything. DVDInfo consistently finds errors and movies skip and freeze towards the end. Have tried all kinds of media from cheapest taiwan to expensive japan.

Different story with +R/RW. All media tried so far CMCMAG R01, CMCMAG F01, RicohJPN have all worked flawlessly.

Very happy with +R/RW performance. Extremely dissapointed with -R/RW performance.

    Anyone else with similar results?
