samsung dvd-612 not reading vcd disks

i recently receieved a samsung dvd-612 dvd player, which says it plays vcd disks. However i have been unable to find any disks that it will read. The format i burned them in is good, i have checked them on my computers... the player just is not reading the disk, and no compatability lists that i have found list the 612.

any and all help anyone can give me is appreciated.

do u have comercial VCDs....if you do try them if they dont work then your player is messed up but if it plays it then your player just cant read CD-R..try burning it to a CD-RW and see if i works on your player
