  1. I have just bought a new dvd writer and I just cant seem to burn any of my avi files on to a 4.7GB disk in dvd format and fit. for example I open the avi file in mainconcept mpeg encoder and convert it in to a mpeg 2 file = 1.80GB then drag it in to a program called Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 then it start to convert it in to dvd format then it stops and says that the out put file is going to be too big and I have to insert a bigger disk. I have tried this on a few trial programs not just Ulead DMF2 and they all do the same sort of thing.
I no some one out there can stop my torment and help me it would be a massive help cheers.

I know nothing about MovieFactory, but it sounds like it's forcing a re-encode when it's not needed. Is there an option to stop that? If not, try authoring and burning with some of the free tools available here. If your file is 100% dvd compliant, you should be able to do it pretty easily.
