I've tried to enable DMA on both my drives because they both rip at 1.7x and the Pioneer is supposed to read at 16x. I've done what everyone says by going to device manager but there isn't a checkbox for DMA. I have WIN98SE and the the only thing I could find DMA for was my Hard drive. I've looked under the Hard Disk Controllers that say IDE and can't find the checkbox for DMA either.
Can someone please help me I can't figure it out. Ripping takes sooooo long.

In Windows 98 you go to Device Manager and select the CD-Rom or writer and in the settings tab there will be 6 check boxes (most may be grayed out) and DMA is the last one. YOu should see it as I just checked an old Win98 machine with a CD burner installed and it was checked.

Thats what I did before. There are only five boxes. The sixth one DMA is not there.
