  1. Hi everyone.
Newbie question: is there any way to rip 5.1 channel audio from DVD?
I am using DVD2SVCD as a ripping program, and it does most of the work by itself. I am encoding the video with CCE2.5. For the audio settings, see the attached image.
I ripped few DVDs so far, but cannot make the ripped audio to be 5.1, as the source is. It always comes out stereo only. Is it possible? And if so, how? What I am doing wrong? BTW, I know the source is 5.1!
I checked the "Audio 1 downsample..." checkbox to avoid Nero from giving me an error message about the audio. It wasn't like that at the beginnig and it didn't changed the outcome.
Thank you in advance for your help.

  3. What are you trying to do with the movie? I don't believe that you can have 5.1 sound with vcd's or svcd's. Stereo is really your only option. If you're trying to burn a DVD, the standard ripping progs (dvdecrypter and smart ripper) preserve the 5.1.

  4. I am trying to make SVCDs (most of them) and VCDs.
The anoying thing is that in the SVCD description page in this site, in the comparisson table between SVCD and VCD it says that 5.1 surround sound is possible in SVCD. If so, then how?
