I guess this is the most appropriate forum to post my question. I have been using Nero recode to produce DVD image files and then Nero Burning ROM to copy the image to a DVD +R using my 8x Plextor 708 drive, set at 8x speed. About every 6th or 7th disc is coming out bad. It seems to proceed OK but at the end of the burn when I think finalizing, I first get a message saying "Invalid field in command" which is then followed up by the message "Could not perform end of disc-at-once" and then the operation is aborted. I am currently using Verbatim 4x media which generally writes in just a minute or so over true 8x speed.
I am fairly new to this so any advice is appreciated otherwise I am going to try forcing the burner at 4x speed to see if that improves the problem which negates the purchasing of the 8x drive in the first place.

I would try different media, +R and -R. Use GOOD QUALITY media though. Try at 4x or even 2x just to see if that is the problem. Hope that Helps.
