  2. TMPEGEnc has a time limit (30 days) for using it's MPEG2 encoding feature. Installing a new MPEG2 codec will not affect the operation of TMPEGEnc. Instead, you could just install a new copy of TMPEGEnc and remove the previous copy. This way you will have an additional 30 days to use the MPEG2 encoding feature.

  3. Alternatively, make a "TMPGEnc_MPEG2_Reset.reg" file with Notepad (*.reg extension is mandatory, name can be whatever) with the following content:

    REGEDIT4
    ; Enables TMPGEnc's MPEG-2 encoder for 30 more days.
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{63902277-B101-4049-8B46-C24B67E155E5}]

Double click this file when your TMPGenc expires and you'll get another month for free.

Simply removing/deleting will not permit one to re-enable the 30 day trial.

"1. Say you've accidentally destroyed a nice shareware program what has a 30-day trial period. Later on, when you notice that it's been destroyed, you try reinstalling it, only to find out that you can't, because the program thinks that you're just trying to get another 30 days. If you first remove the program's registry entries, however, you may very well be able to reinstall the software and recover your trial period again."

    Therefore, go here:

and download regcleaner, follow its simple instructions. Download TMPGEnc and then apply the registry hack.
