I want to combine 2 DVD's of 30 minutes to 1 DVD of 60 minutes. DVD Shrink should do the job. I tried it (in the Re-author-mode), but it doesn't work. It's not possible to select 2 different DVD's (only 1). Any advise?

This is probably very unorthodox, but here's how I do it ...
* Extract the VOB's to different directories using the DVD Shrink.
* Use VOB Merge to merge the 2 files (save un another directory and name the resulting merged file VTS_01_001.VOB
VOBMerge -- http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/vobmerge.html
* Use IFOEDit to create a new IFO for the merged VOB file (Open IFOEdit and click on CREATE IFO button)
Not the only way, I'm sure, but works for me. -
You can do this with the Re-author fuction, but you have to rip both DVDs to the HD BEFORE running DVD shrink. Here's what you do:
1) Rip DVD A to HD in it's own dir (eg. A/VIDEO_TS)
2) Rip DVD B to HD in a seperate dir (eg. B/VIDEO_TS)
3) Run DVD Shrink
4) Open the folder with the ripped DVD A, choose re-author, drag and drop
5) Open the folder with the ripped DVD B files, the re-author window stays open while you do this, then drag and drop again.
This will create a new DVD to compile. You will lose the menu(s) but keep the chapter points. -
New to creating DVDs but just made a matrix trilogy dvd with the above method and then used "Nero Vison Express 2" to create very pleasing menus with movie buttons and sound, after importing the output from DVD shrink, Just over 6hrs on 1 dvd with SVCD quality/soundOriginally Posted by Vejita-samaIt appears that the CPU was operating so fast that it began to execute instructions before they arrived. I'm just curious as to why you'd want to put 6 hours of SVCD quality on a DVD. The only two reasons I can think of is that you'd be too lazy to walk over and change DVDs once every 2 hours or you're too cheap to spend another $1.50 on 2 more blank DVDs. Is there a 3rd?

Well to be honest, Lazyness doesnt come into itOriginally Posted by BobK
