Just bought Finding Nemo from USA Region 1 and trying to back up to save original but DVD Decrypter can't do it.
Message came up showing it was using somthing called Bruno to decrypt but i then kept receiving errors messages and it missed off 16 files
Haven't got full details of the error messages but hopeful somebody can give me help/advice

Disk 1 or Disk 2?
DVDDecrypter has no problems with this DVD as I know a few people who have ripped it
you could try Smartripper or DVDShrink with No compression as well as some other options around
it may be a faulty disc, if not check your DVDDecrypter settings -
Only tried disc 1 up to now
any idea what dvd decrypt settings should be ?
Thanks for help -
I think you meant DVDDecryptor is using Brute force method to read disk. This means that your DVD ROM drive is not region 1 - sounds like it from your initial message. If DVDDecryptor Brute Force method of reading the disk in a drive that is not the region code of the DVD doesn't work then I guess you either have to find a firmware flash to make your DVD-ROM drive region free, or perhaps try something like Smartripper to see if it's smarter in this area. I am not software products like DVDRegionfree will help outOriginally Posted by Mighty

A friend brought me a copy from over the pond, had no problem using DVD Decrypter to rip it even though my dvd rom is region 2 and disk was region 1...
Dam orig disks would not play in my standalone though...Dam regions...But the ripped copy does..Not bothered by small problems...

I also got a Region 1 copy. When I tried DVDDecryptor in my region 4 DVD-ROM it said it would have to use Brute Force mode. Never tested it out since I also have a region 1 DVD+/-RW drive in my PC and just used that and it ripped fineOriginally Posted by iooi

Same here. My parents sent Nemo over from America....backed it up(movie only) with no problem via DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink in a Region 2 DVD-Rom.
Speaking of hating Region Codes. Rental outlets here in Germany are importing Region 4 DVD's to use as rentals. They are PAL so they will play in DVD players BUT give computers a hard time. Sneaky Buggers.

Couldn't you get around region problems by using ANYDVD/CLONEDVD?

I have sucessfully backed up Nemo Disc 1 using DVD Decrypter, DVD2One, and Nero to burn.

But using AnyDVD ... should solve your problems.
Also want to mention ... gobs and gobs of extra crap on that DVD ... Disney DVDs ... do that.
Unless you like the extra stuff on it ... DVDshrink 2.3 should work too ... and do only full movie ... and forget about the extra stuff.
