My father got me Fujifilm 25pack DVD-R cds, but it doesn't say how many X it is anywhere. Does this mean its 1x?

  2. they've been Ritek G03, so 1x, but they work well @ 2x, you may need to patch your firmware to use as 2x.

These are the cds right here. Are these the cds you were talking about Lobe, Ritek G03? And what do you mean to patch it. Patch up the burner?

  4. I have a 25 pack of the same media. Since you have not patched/hacked your burner, here is what you do:

download dvdinfo. Open 'er up and put the dvd into your burner and click one (cant remember right now) of the dvd buttons and it will tell you all of the information about the dvd as well as the rated write speed.

Patching/hacking the dvd burner allows you to burn 1x media at 2x. I have done this with mixed results (some dvd's didnt burn good so I had a coaster). Mind you, it was cheaper media. Personally, I'll wait the extra 25 minutes to burn a dvd.

If, for example, you have the pioneer dvr-105 or one of the clone drives (I have the A05, which is the same as the 105), you can hack the firmware on it to burn 1x media at 2x.

    Hope this helps.

  8. What is a coaster?
hehe...Not something you want on a regular basis!!!

    A coaster is when:
    a) a disc fails to burn completely for some reason
    b) a disc burns completely but is unreadable
    c) a disc becomes unreadable after a while for some reason
...best used as drink coasters on your favourite coffee table.
