I have a Fuji S2000HD that is a digital still camera that has 1280x720 video mode. I'm not complaining about the video mode, as it is probably better than I expected but I wonder if I could get more out of it. The settings are limited but the problem that I have is that the camera will continuosly re-focus the images, especially in wide shots. The options I have to work with are, 1. digital or optical zoom 2. Image stablization on or off. I also can have AF illumination on or off and off course resolution. The camera is mounted on a tripod. Any tips would be great.

  2. never ever use digital zoom, turn it off in the settings. image stabilization is a good thing. most likely what you need to do is set the auto focus to a smaller area. look in the manual to see how to set it to a small center spot.

I looked through the manual and it does not seem that I can alter focus settings that will take effect in movie mode. I can alter focus settings for still pictures. Here is an excerpt from the manual that may be of interest regarding which zoom setting to choose. Any users of this camera out there with experience in movie mode?

    "Choose OPTICAL to
enable optical zoom and allow the camera
to continue to focus during recording (note
that the sound of the lens may be recorded).
Choose DIGITAL to enable digital zoom and
turn focusing off during recording (note that
digital zoom may produce lower quality im-
    ages than optical zoom)."

  4. Did you ever figure out a solution to this problem? I have the same camera and the continuous auto-focus while recording video is driving me crazy. It ruins all of my videos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
