Just hook your VCR to the DVD and hit record, you might encounter some "macrovision" problems. Do a search om the left "DVD Hacks" to see if you can disable this for your player.

My DVD Player is connected through the VCR. In theory, just hit Record> Trouble is, Macrovision comes into play, you know, light-dark?

Some others may be able to tell you if there is a VCR that defeats it, or a hack for the DVD player to turn off Macro.

Or, if you make your own backups, you told the program to Demacro it, once burned as a backup, it should copy well.

    Cheers,

    George

There's also a few "black boxes" which will filter out the macrovision from the DVD player.

  5. hmm.

i have a couple home burned dvd's, that i want to copy to vhs.
which was why i was asking.
I did a hack search, and there werent any that i could do to my dvd player.

I dont know if the macro was turned off or not.

so the macro is from the dvd player itself and not the dvd?

The macrovision is encoded into the DVD. Since you are making VHS copies of your home burned DVDs you have nothing to worry about. Just connect your DVD player to your VCR and hit record.

No, it's not. It's produced by the DVD player and the the disk has a "flag" which turns it on if it's commercially made. That's why some hacks can disable it.

Why don't you just connect everything and give it a go, you have all the equipment don't you?
