hello
i've yet to burn a backup - i'm havin trouble to say the least
downloaded all the popular progs - decrypter, shrink, isoshrink, imgtool, fab, a few others.
no luck yet.
I hope you people are amused by my misfortune
current dilemma
I ripped T3 disc 1 with decrypter
when I opened the movie with dvdShrink - it was a green line, so I thought it was okay to rip with decrypter
what's with the fanfare when it finishes ripping?
when i go to write - come to find out it's 6 gigs
stupid son of a bugger!
now, it's back to editing with dvdShrink
(I've already tried doing a concert without success)
the green line says 4464 mb - seemingly a good sign
listing is:
menus - 293
movie - 4049
extras - 121
when I copy the movie to the ReAuthor window it now says 4464
why when i copy the main movie do I get everything?
what's worse is that when I go into start/edit frames it says
1 hr 48 min and 5563 mb - 1 - 33 chapaters.
so, no way it's going to fit at 100%
what the devil is going on
I suppose I can rip at 91%, but now I don't believe what it's telling me
please help before I go completely bald
thanks - and yes I will keep reading
-I forgot to mention
after ripping - I opened IsoShrink to convert
I pointed to the folder with the Vob, bup, and nav files
IsoShrink created the two audio/video folders
and POOF - seemingly eliminated the files that were there
IS this right?
I'm rather dismayed

I like the fanfare! fully read the dvdshrink instructions... it works as it states?
menus - 293
movie - 4049
extras - 121
when I copy the movie to the ReAuthor window it now says 4464Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -
menus - 293

when I copy the movie to the ReAuthor window it now says 4464
I'll bet if you click the 'No Compression' button then the line won't be all green anymore- and it will show the actual files size- over 6 gig in that disk.
When you drag the something to the reauthor window if it's larger than 4464 than it will set the compression to make it 4464.
If you want the total to be less than 4464, click on the 'Ration' button and set it whatever you want. You can also change the default to less than 4464- click on 'Edit' and 'Preferences' and set it to whatever size you want your DVD to be.
I suggest you rip with Decrypter in file mode, then open the file with DVDShrink and use backup or reauthor. -
It's showing you what the Numbers will be After Backup
The main movie in T3 is around 6 GB? So, Re-author, and drag the main movie in. Hit start/end and trim the credits. Look at your compression %, is it over 90%? then hit backup. If under 90%, do deep-analysis.
It's pretty straightforward, didn't you look at any DVDShrink guides? You did pick a particulary nasty movie for a 1st try (it's multi-angle, and large). To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
thanks for the help
yes I've read several guides
it's helping
I went in and reauthored the disc
in my haste to increase the ratio - I unchecked ALL of the sound files.
and with rolling back the credits I got it to 100% - (1 chapter)
Cool, I thought
so, I ripped the backup with dvdShrink
then burned with BurnAtOnce
everything ran fine
put the copy in the home theater
it plays and looks fantastic but no freakin sound
so, now I'm redoing
I kept the 6ch audio ONLY - hope that's okay
what perplexes me is what it says in the Frames window
that it's 5563 mb
90% of that is still over 5000
What i figure, and it doesn't explicitly say
this number is what's left after taking out the menu and extras
Those didn't show up on my soundless copy
I don't quite understand it all, but it does seem to work
thanks again
