  1. I have a huge collection of Video files with varying sizes from a few MBs to a few GBs.

I want to take DVD backup of the video files in their appropriate Folder, Format, without re-encoding and with associated descriptive text files.

The Nero like Backup is of no use since the identity of each file is lost on storage media (DVD).

How do I go about it?

Note - I understand a software Video Charge Studio (http://www.videocharge.com/Products/vcs/features_list.php ) allows this. But, the software is not FREE and I have no commercial use of any tool or software. It is exclusively personal.

    Thanks.

Moving you to our general forum as this is not really any dvd ripping.

Wouldn't a cheap backup hdd be better?

I have no idea what you mean by this but:
    1) Just use ImgBurn to create a DATA DVD.
    2) If you need software to calculate the best way to fit many gigabytes of data to several DVDs...

    Thanks.
Yes, HDD is a good idea but DVDs are cheaper, better, more secure and safer storage media. No?

    @hech54

    Thanks.
The tool is a shareware. What I need is a tool that is FREE and that can split large video files (more than 4.3 GB) in size while retaining the tree structure.

I've been using it since 2008 and it has never expired or failed to do what I want.

  6. @hech

    Thanks for the tip.

The DVD Span is working! The Trial limitation is for backup up to 7 DVD [max.].

I have a supplementary Question - Does InfraRecorder verify data burnt on the DVD-R? I don't see it in the Settings. If not, then the data integrity will not be reliable.

    Thank you.

You can use mkvmergegui, add mkv, under the Global tab choose Enable splitting... and choose a size. Start muxing.

It's done, thanks to your help. But a little problem. When my media player, I use KMPlayer, switches to the 2nd part, there is a flash of pixalated video. Is it normal?

    Thanks
