  1. Ripped VOB's to re-author
Demuxed using DVD-Lab to mpv and ac3
Did audio transcode to make mpa from ac3
Used Restream to remove GOP timing

Before I removed the GOP timing, the video would get to a time halfway though and then the time would reset to 0:00 (must have been from 2 disks, compressed to 1). Now the timing in the mpv (video) file is correct, but I don't have audio for the second half. I listened to the mpa file, and it is only half of the show.

How can I get the other half of the audio?

  3. I think I have isolated where the problem occurs.

I was able to listen to the ac3 file, and determined that it is all present. However, after I transcoded the audio to mpa using DVD-Lab the audio is cut in half (stops where the video was resetting to 0:00). So I lose half of the audio in the audio transcode.

If I attempt to use the ac3 file directly, it works, but once I skip a chapter or fast forward...the sound disappears. I'm not sure if this will be the case in a standalone, but it happens when playing the files from my HD.

Maybe if I use another program to change the ac3 to wav it might work...

    Any ideas in the meantime?

I just had the same problem with DVDcrypter and AC3Tool.
I thought I had all of the audio but I didn't.
    I used DVDShrink...same problem.
Not sure what is going on.
I have XP Pro and one of my hard drives CAN accept files larger than 4gig.
I just ripped the DVD into to parts with DVDShrink.
Mind you...this was only my second attempt at taking AUDIO ONLY from a disc so....you know....:
