MyDVD 4.0 by sonic and UNABLE TO READ on COMPUTER

Hi all,

this may have been covered before my applogies if it has, I am used to burning with Pinnacle 8 or Ulead 6. got new Sony dru 510a and been burning DVDs +, - RWs + RWs works pretty good.

just burned 3 dvds that play fabulous in my stand alone (samsung combo vhs/dvd) player. but get this will not play nor be read by windows in either my DVD rom nor my SONY drive that just wrote that disc? (i wrote them on + rs) any ideas?????


secondly using MyDVD i have had bad luck with several projects being to great a file size (hence burn button is greyed) but get this all projects are less than the 4.7 gig (way less some times as muchs as 1.25gigs less) i was told that it could be the projects are not "dvd standard" so when mydvd sees this it limits the project size to 60 mins on a dvd. I have captured in DVD standard in both ULEAD and PINNACLE 8 using their standard DVD templates (ok maybe i dropped the bit rate) but that shouldnt make a big difference? any ideas on this too?

As Ian Hunter would say, 'allo 'allo 'allo 'allo! (That's hello with a British accent). I'm not sure about your first problem but it may be your media. Your DVD ROM drive and writer may be more picky than your standalone. As far as the problem with SonicMyDVD, if your audio is compressed MyDVD will uncompress it before it burns the video to DVD. This will swell your original file greatly, causing it to be too large for your DVDR. Hope this helps.

ok audio.... any sugguestions for settings in Pinnacle 8.0 during capture to avoid this problem or ..... if i can make moving menues in pinnacle 8 that to would solve problem
