  1. I am having some issues with playing my svcd movies on my stand alone dvd drive. The sound gets out of sync and the video skip's on a regular basis. Keep in mind that the movies play flawless on my computer cdrw drive. Is this an issue with my dvd player or is it the media I use? I use memorex cd-r's and the dvd player is a memorex mvd 2027. I burned the image using Nero 5.5.10.35 at 8x speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. The problem might be how the SVCD was encoded. What I mean by this is if the video is in compliant SVCD specs. 2520 maximum bitrate, 44Khz audio. If the encoded video has strayed from this, it will cause skips and stutters, etc. For example, going higher with the bitrate, even up to say 3000, would cause the DVD player to choke on it because it can't handle the high bitrate coming from a CD.

I would put the blame on the DVD player if that's what the problem is like I described. If the DVD player is old, more than a year or so, it probably can't handle a SVCD that goes outside the limits.

In the tools section you can download "avibitrate", it's a program to give you details on a video file. Use this to get your bitrate number.

    I hope that helps.
