Can TMPGEnc handle an AVI file that's larger than 2 gb?
The reason I ask is at work, we have a Decreet Edit* workstation capable of capturing from a Digi Beta source at uncompressed quality.
Now, at the level of quality, anything captured that's over a couple of minutes is over 2 gb. Those files, seemingly, will not convert in TMPGEnc. I get an "ACM" error, or some other error that states the video is of uncompatible format.
Now, using the same system with the same capture settings, shorter videos -- say, commercial length -- convert in TMPGEnc.
Any thoughts?

Yes, I can confirm that TMPGEnc works with files larger than 2GB. I am using the NTFS (New Technology File System) that allows Windows to work with files larger than 4GB. My AVIs are usually ~6GB a piece when I capture from my cable.
That 'ACM Error' seems like an audio related error. Perhaps you don't have the proper codec installed?
